What is OurTownSF Nonprofit Expo

An annual resource fair of over 100 SF LGBTQ non profit service providers, arts and athletic
groups taking place each October hosted by OurTownSF, TurnOut and the Eureka Valley Recreation Center.  The next Expo will take place October 20, 2018.

History: Nonprofit Window,  OurTownSF.org &  Nonprofit Expo

In 2001 Patrick Batt, a Castro merchant, recruited Walgreens on Castro St. at 18th to donate a window to SF LGBTQ nonprofits for the purpose of reserving it in order to promote their mission, recruit volunteers & advertise upcoming events. In 2011 he turned over reservations to Paul Margolis. Since the Nonprofit Window faces busy Castro Street, there were long waitlists for a reservation. Due to this, Paul created OurTownSF.org in 2013 to continuously promote groups that serve our community. Since that time, Paul now shares reservations for the Window with Gary Poe.  To reserve contact window@ourtownsf.org  Over a hundred events are included on the calendar located on the homepage of OurTownSF.org each month either submitted by groups or found on their website or Facebook pages. Paul attends and photographs over a hundred of these events annually in order to promote them.  See his photos under the PHOTOS tab and in The San Francisco Bay Times  In November 2016 OurTownSF Nonprofit Expo took place and again in October 2017.  It is "The largest SF LGBTQ Nonprofit Expo Ever!"
